The Artterra Online Gallery (2021–2024)
The Artterra Online Gallery was the foundation of our journey — an experiment in imagining what an art gallery could look like in the digital space. From 2021 to 2024, we set out to rethink how exhibitions might unfold online, how artists and audiences could build authentic connections without physical walls, and how marketing and storytelling for art might evolve in the digital age.
Over those years, the gallery became more than a place to display and sell work. It became a living experiment in digital culture. We asked questions about how an exhibition could feel immersive through a screen, how community could be built across geographies, and how emerging artists could find visibility in a world saturated with images but often devoid of deeper stories. In that spirit, we hosted online exhibitions, launched creative campaigns, and held special projects and events to bring greater awareness to our artists and their work.
In total, Artterra had the honour of representing 67 artists from across Canada, a vibrant mix of voices that showcased the breadth of creativity from coast to coast. Each collection was curated not only for aesthetic impact but also for its capacity to carry meaning, pairing art with social and environmental purpose. Visitors to the gallery weren’t just shopping; they were engaging with works that spoke to climate, identity, healing, and the shared questions of our time.
Through the Online Gallery, we learned that digital platforms could be more than a substitute for physical galleries — they could open new pathways. We envisioned and tested what online events could look like, how digital exhibitions could create intimacy across distance, and how marketing in the digital age could amplify artists in ways that were both ethical and impactful. These years of exploration showed us that art in the online realm was not limited, but expansive — capable of sparking dialogue, cultivating community, and reaching audiences that traditional galleries often leave behind.
From those experiments, the new Artterra emerged. The Online Gallery was not the end but the beginning, a foundation that allowed us to grow into the creative studio we are today. While we no longer hold sales rights for the artworks once represented, the spirit of the gallery lives on in our current projects — festivals, films, immersive installations, and campaigns — all of which continue to honour our original vision: to use art as a force for connection, impact, and transformation.
