Tina Ding
I studied art in high school and then completed my bachelor's degree at the Qingdao University of Fine Arts in 1988. My paintings have been exhibited in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Germany, America and Canada. I am now a Canadian citizen and reside in Mississauga. I paint because it brings me joy to create images that are both lyrical and contextual. The hours when the mind is absorbed by beauty are the hours when we are truly alive. So I paint—the joy of living, which at the same time brings happiness, peace and delight to those who look at my work. From the countries that I have travelled I draw inspiration from subject matter from objective facts and real scenery, forming an artistic response to this outside stimulation to create images that are both lyrical and contextual: images that reveal something about how we perceive ourselves as human beings on this planet Earth, images that invite us into new ways of looking at what surrounds us every day!
