Resilience and Hope: Call for Submissions

Artterra is excited to announce an inspiring collaboration with Takotook, a Toronto-based platform that celebrates emerging Iranian and Middle Eastern preforming artists. Together, we invite visual artists to submit existing works for an opportunity to be featured in the upcoming Raha Ensemble Concert on January 11th, 2025.

This event is more than just a concert—it’s a celebration of the enduring spirit of Iranian and Middle Eastern culture through music and visual storytelling.

Selected artwork will take center stage as the official cover image of the event, featured on the event’s poster and promotional materials, and showcased throughout the evening.

About the Raha Ensemble Concert

The Raha Ensemble will perform a repertoire of Iranian classical music that weaves stories of sorrow, resilience, and renewal. The concert’s theme, Resilience and Hope, will guide the evening, reflecting the deep traditions and aspirations of the Middle Eastern community.

Artterra and Takotook aim to elevate this event by showcasing visual art that complements the music’s emotional journey. Together, sight and sound will create an unforgettable experience of cultural storytelling.

Who Can Apply?

We’re seeking artists residing in Canada who have existing artworks that align with the concert’s theme. Ideal submissions will reflect:

• Resilience and hope – celebrating strength and perseverance.
• Cultural storytelling – sharing the richness of Iranian and Middle Eastern heritage.
• Aspirations for a brighter future – embodying a message of hope and renewal.
