The artterra Exhibition at the Sima Festival 2024
A Collaborative Winter Showcase by Outdoor Artist Collective
Welcome to a visual odyssey curated by the artist Arlene Ness, showcased in the artterra online gallery as part of Sima Festival 2024.
Nestled within the heart of the Canadian Northwest, this exhibition unveils the profound artistic voices resonating from this majestic region. Seven distinct artists converge to explore the symbiotic relationship between nature, culture and creativity. Through a diverse array of mediums, they capture the spirit of the coastal landscape, infusing their works with the essence of untamed wilderness and cultural richness. Ness's curation seamlessly weaves together narratives of tradition, innovation, and environmental consciousness, offering a compelling glimpse into the soul of the Canadian Northwest region.

Sima Festival
Sima Festival is a celebration of winter focused on reflecting, redefining and fostering our individual and collective relationship with the environment.
Centered on building community during the darkest months of the year through art, outdoor recreation, education, conversations and music.
Winter is a moment many people from around the world experience regardless of age, culture, history, skin colour, gender or social background. By gathering around the neutral theme of winter, this project seeks to uplift individuals and communities as environmental leaders by placing immense value on their lived experience of the territory.
The 2nd edition of the festival will be held in Terrace, BC (CA) with activities in Hazelton, Kitselas & Kitsumkalum (BC) from January 24th to 28th, 2024.
