THE ARTIST'S STORY

Jackie DeBlasio

Jackie is a self taught artist who first picked up the paint brush in 2016 and hasn't been able to put it down since. It has allowed her to express herself in ways which words can’t possibly articulate and consistently brings her back to the essence of who she is and the life she’s meant to live.

Earlier in life she experienced severe depression and varying levels of anxiety as she tried desperately to exist according to societal norms. She soon came to a deep understanding that following her own path while letting go of the expectations and judgements around her held the key to living her life on her terms through intention and alignment.

Jackie’s chosen medium is acrylic on canvas. Knowing that one can never truly “master” art excites Jackie for what is yet to be discovered through her creative expression. When she paints her favourite tool is the unassuming foam brush because it forces her to stay loose and to not become too attached to preciseness. Her use of colour is directly reflected by her emotions and experiences expressed from moment to moment and as an intuitive artist she recognizes the energetic flow which surrounds each of us and strives to convey it within each piece she creates.

While observing her art you will notice a sense of freedom she brings to the canvas as a reminder that we should all follow our hearts and stay a bit wild knowing that we are each capable and worthy of our dreams.
