First, we want to acknowledge that we are living and working on the traditional, unceded and occupied lands of Indigenous peoples, specifically the Lekwungen and WSÁNEĆ nations, as well as the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples.
We strive to create sustainable processes that have a lower carbon footprint than most retail businesses, which is why our artists ship their work directly to the buyer, and why we are focussing on Canadian artists and Canadian buyers.
By the time most products reach the buyer at a typical retail store, they have been shipped multiple times. We want to ship products less to reduce carbon emmisions, so our model involves direct shipping from the maker to the buyer.
We strive to support BIPOC folks, and to actively work to stop racism in its many forms. There are so many aspects to racism in Canada, and we are committed to learning more and taking action to make positive changes.
We strive to support LGBTQ2S+ folks and recognize that folks in these communities experience a higher level of violence than any other group of people. We acknowledge this, and strive to support these communities.
