Short Documentary Filmmakers - Canadawide

[Paid, Fully Remote Internship for domestic students in Canada]

Artterra is an online art gallery representing artists from all over Canada and we are looking for film student to help us with the creation of short documentary and promotional videos of our artists. 

Our mission is to enhance the Canadian arts ecosystem by showcasing the diversity of artists from Canada through storytelling.

This is a fun twelve-weeks paid part-time internship where you'll have the opportunity to add to your video portfolio while getting to interact with some amazing artists.

Project Description: 

We are looking for 10 student teams for our April - June cohort to create short films of our artists. Our artists are located all over Canada, namely: Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver.

We would like to collaborate with students in these locations to help us capture the compelling story of these Canadian artists through these videos. 

Each video should be 1-2 minutes long, capturing the artist's process, and mission statement. We would like to collaborate with students to script, record and edit these professional short videos.

Responsibilities:

  • Students will be undertaking building storyboards, storytelling, videography, interviewing and editing these videos.
  • The outcome would be short 1-2 minute videos that can be used for brand promotion, recruitment and on our youtube channel.
  • We would also need shorter versions that we can use as reels and social media ads.
  • Other edits as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with videography, storytelling and video editing. 
  • University and Collage students in production majors are preferred.
  • Be a current student registered in a Canadian post-secondary education institution, with no age limit.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and are legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • This project is paid through Riipen Level Up so additional eligibility requirements are outlined in the application link.

Please Note: All video recording tools must be provided by the students. We are, however, open to discussing some reasonable costs related to renting equipment.

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship and supervision throughout the project. Mentorship and script feedback will be provided.
